  1. The one with the brother was Thomas Hartnell – in the first episode, when the young seaman is dying, he begs Goodsir to not do an autopsy on him – “don’t cut me up like you did Tom Hartnell’s brother.” – the younger Hartnell was one of the three who died in the first winter, before the show picks up the timeline (and they’re also the ones whose bodies were found in later years, totally preserved, and Hartnell indeed had an autopsy scar!)
